πΎ Oats Upma Recipe (South Indian Style)
A healthy and tasty South Indian breakfast made with oats, veggies, and light tempering.
π Ingredients:
- 1 cup β Rolled oats
- 1 medium β Onion (chopped)
- 1 small β Carrot (chopped)
- ΒΌ cup β Green peas
- 1 tbsp β Oil / Ghee
- Β½ tsp β Mustard seeds
- 5β6 β Curry leaves
- 2 cups β Water
- Salt β to taste
π©βπ³ Steps:
- π Dry roast oats in a pan and keep aside.
- π Heat oil/ghee, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and sautΓ© onions.
- π Add veggies (carrot, peas) and cook for 2β3 minutes.
- π Pour 2 cups water, add salt, bring to boil.
- π Add oats slowly, stir well, cook until water is absorbed.
- π Garnish with coriander and lemon juice. Serve hot.
β Serve with curd or coconut chutney.
